Online meetings via ZOOM – a practical example

Online meetings via ZOOM – a practical example

For more than a year, the words ZOOM, TEAMS or Skype have been part of many people's everyday working lives. These software solutions are good helpers when it comes to maintaining private contacts and talking «in person».

In this blog post, we will introduce you to the possibilities that ZOOM, for example, offers for holding events with large groups. In addition, we will present a concrete practical example.

Media Concept Switzerland and Gregg Marketing are partners of Cultivaris GmbH for the brand and supply chain management of the brands Runaway Bride® and French Bolero®. In order to maintain the quality of the plants at a high and homogeneous level throughout Europe, only 15 production nurseries in 8 countries deal with the cultivation of this innovative garland hydrangea.

A regular exchange about production processes, product developments and marketing activities is therefore a must. Garry Grüber and Robert Wacker invite the owners and managers of the production nurseries twice a year to a so-called «network meeting». At these meetings, cultivation trials are visited, marketing concepts are presented and, of course, there is no shortage of exchanges among each other.

An important meeting was planned for the beginning of February 2021 at the company Kötterheinrich in Lengerich. However, due to the development of the Corona crisis, it was not possible for the partners from e.g. Sweden, England, Italy or Poland to travel to Germany.

Thanks to the extensive knowledge and possibilities of Media Concept's online department, a ZOOM meeting with 30 participants was planned and realized in the greenhouses at Kötterheinrich.

The preparation and detailed planning were in the hands of Luisa Gregg and Robert Wacker. This included setting up the "meeting room" and the associated technology with cameras and microphones. Especially in greenhouses, a lot of background noise is generated by ventilation, heating and irrigation. Thanks to Media Concept's good technical equipment, it was possible to transmit the speakers in perfect image and sound quality as well as to be between the crops with the camera. Thus, for example, close-ups of buds and the development of root balls could be shown.

The 30 participants asked a number of questions and were able to interact directly with the speakers, as a speaker was attached to the lectern, which allowed direct conversations with the questioners.

After the event which lasted a total of four hours, the feedback was consistently positive. This applies both to the technical content but especially to the good implementation of the technology. Some participants even said that they could imagine a second meeting via ZOOM.

Should you also have the need to hold a larger event online, e.g., from a trial field or from a greenhouse, we will be happy to provide advice and support.

We look forward to your questions.
